It’s in the news that an Indian technology company is partnering with a local firm, Linkeserve, to bring ICT education to Nigeria. The Indian company, Talentledge, would offer this service, through its multiple product lines, such as:
1) Individual learning programmes
2) Campus learning schemes
3) Corporate education programs
4) Government training projectors

Yesterday evening, I caught whiff of a story on Twitter, about the first lady of the United States, her husband and the Danish prime minister. A narrative was constructed using three images that depicted the POTUS, the beautiful prime minister and the British prime minister, David Cameron, posing for a selfie. The outcome of the story was that the First Lady blatantly disapproved to the point of swapping seats with her husband.

Who remembers this?
We, the people, are not used to being gatekeepers, being responsible for the information we are fed over the media. To be a gatekeeper is to be a deep reader, a critical thinker, a rookie-researcher; someone who compares information sources to verify the truth. This gatekeeper never accepts news on the face of it. He or she is aware of the political-economy of the media, perhaps not in that exact lingo, but in an uncanny and uncouth manner that informs his/her interpretation of the news. We are not accustomed to being this person, the 24/7 gatekeeper; but the digital information age calls for it.
